Family and Flexible Leave

Sometimes it can be tricky juggling your home commitments alongside work, but working our way means you can find exactly the right balance:

Here’s how they work:

Maternity Leave

If you’ve been with us for at least one year, you’ll receive 26 weeks’ salary at basic weekly pay.

  • The first six weeks will be paid at 90% of average earnings if this is greater than weekly pay
  • The next 13 weeks at the applicable rate of Statutory Maternity Pay.
  • Any Maternity Leave after 39 weeks will be unpaid.

 

Adoption Leave

If you’ve been with us for at least one year, you’ll receive 26 weeks’ salary at basic weekly pay.

  • The first six weeks will be paid at 90% of average earnings if this is greater than weekly pay
  • The next 13 weeks at the applicable rate of Statutory Adoption Pay.
  • Any Adoption Leave after 39 weeks will be unpaid.

 

Paternity Leave 

If you’ve been with us for at least one year, you can take 2 weeks’ leave.

  • You can choose to take your leave in two 1-week periods, or one 2-week period – it can’t be split into individual days.
  • You can start your leave on any day of the week on or after your child is born or placed for adoption.
  • You’ll need to take your leave within 56 days of the birth or adoption date.
  • You’ll receive 2 weeks’ pay based on either 90% of your average weekly earnings or two weeks’ basic pay, whichever is lower.

 

Marriage or Civil Partnership Ceremonies

You can take one day’s paid leave at the time around your wedding or ceremony.

 

Moving House

If you’re moving house we’ll pay you for one day’s leave. You can take the leave at the time you move to your newly purchased or rented house.

 

Competing in Major Sporting Events

If you’re competing for your country in a major sporting event either nationally or internationally, you can apply for up to one week of extra paid holiday.

 

Time off for volunteering

Employees are entitled to up to 16 hours paid volunteering time per year, over and above any team volunteering challenges that they may take part in.
